KENOSHA, WI. – Uline, North America’s leading distributor of shipping, industrial, and packaging materials, is gearing up to fill 150 warehouse positions in the new year to support company expansion in Kenosha County. Having just opened the largest warehouse in Wisconsin, Uline is hosting a hiring event on Saturday, January 18 from 8 – 11:30 am to add to their growing team in Kenosha County.

Every growing industrial area in most all cities have good public transportation so workers can get to their jobs. Part of the Republican “conservative woke” is to oppose most all forms of financial support for public transportation. If the management of Uline was not so obsessed with promoting their extreme political ideologies, they could work with other large employers along the I-94 corridor and develop a public transportation system based on buses that could get workers to their job sites. Such a system would also increase economic development in the area with a more reliable source of workers. Here is a situation where political bias limits economic development.
Well. when you build your factories and warehouses outside of metropolitan areas, good luck in getting a regular supply of employees to fill those positions. The car-centric idea of building these in out of the way places will be a problem, and excludes people that cannot get there without a car using public transportation (that no longer exists). Roundy’s site in Oconomowoc is a good example of this. On bad weather/snow days…how many people cannot get there until the freeways are plowed for those early morning start times? Sure…land is cheaper further away from cities…so companies do it. I cannot wait to see what will happen for a company like FORD, which is building its biggest (but now delayed) factory 50 miles away from Metropolitan Memphis, and will need 6,000 new workers.
