Milwaukee (Feb. 8, 2018) – U.S. Cellular continued to invest in the wireless experience for its customers throughout 2017 with network and store upgrades, and community donations. Here in Wisconsin, the investment totaled more than $71.1 million, with $70.1 million going toward enhancements to U.S. Cellular’s award-winning network.

In an effort to become a one-stop shop for everyone’s technology needs, U.S. Cellular opened, redesigned or relocated seven retail stores in Wisconsin in 2017, investing $852,000 to ensure that customers could experience all of the smartphones, tablets, Internet of Things (IoT) products, accessories and games that the stores have to offer.

“At U.S. Cellular, we understand that you need a fast network that keeps up with your lifestyle, so we continue to invest in the latest innovations and technology to ensure you can connect to the people, information and entertainment you need no matter where you are,” said John Heimsch, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Wisconsin. “We also are dedicated to the neighborhoods where we live and work, and through local donations and volunteerism, we are investing in the future of our communities.”

For the third consecutive year, U.S. Cellular directed its philanthropic efforts to STEM-focused youth education through a $1 million donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of America, with $153,000 going directly to clubs in Wisconsin. In addition, Wisconsin U.S. Cellular associates spent more than 3,000 hours volunteering their time with Boys & Girls Clubs and a variety of other non-profits throughout the year.
