UScellular Announces Winners of First Annual Hispanic Heritage Art Contest

Milwaukee, (October 26, 2022) – Today, UScellular announced the winners of its first annual Hispanic Heritage Art Contest with Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee. Winners of the art contest were celebrated at a winner’s ceremony where prizes were handed out for the top three vote-getters

The Hispanic Heritage Month Art Contest was comprised of Boys & Girls Club members who were encouraged to create artwork in honor of notable Latin or Hispanic STEM icons. From Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, the public was able to participate in online voting to determine the winners. Participants with the highest votes were given gift cards for the following amounts:

  • 1st place – Lily Carter Lewis ($250)
  • 2nd place – Princess Trotter ($150)
  • 3rd place – Ava Mayo ($100)

“The development of this contest over the past couple of years has been so inspiring,” said Kristy Baron, director of sale at UScellular. “Being able to provide Boys & Girls Club members with an opportunity to showcase their talents in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month has been a fantastic experience, and we are so proud to celebrate the work that they have done this year.”

It’s inspiring to see our Club members create meaningful art in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month,” said Kathy Thornton-Bias, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee President & CEO. “We appreciate the UScelluar staff who helped organize this art contest. It was a creative way to encourage our youth to explore the history, culture and accomplishments made by the Hispanic community.”
