Milwaukee – Tim Karp, a financial executive with more than 25 years’ experience, has been named Controller of Max Weiss Company, the region’s leader in custom metal bending and fabricating.

Karp, a CPA, brings a broad background in accounting and administration to his new role. He is responsible for all accounting functions, and maintains the company’s external banking, insurance and accounting relationships. He counsels senior management on financial and business matters.

Prior to joining Max Weiss Company, Karp operated a business and accounting services firm, serving clients in a multitude of market segments. He earlier worked 24 years leading the accounting, information technology and human resources divisions at Wisconsin & Southern Railroad.

He holds a B.S. in business administration-accounting from Marquette University.

“We’re tremendously fortunate to have a financial professional of Tim’s experience and acumen join our team,” said Alan Sanders, President of Max Weiss Company. “His insight and knowledge will be tremendously valued.”

“I’m thrilled to join a reputable, well-established organization in Max Weiss Company, and provide its leadership team with information and advice to keep the company moving forward,” Karp said. “Besides overseeing day-to-day financials, my most important role is to interpret and communicate financial information to help guide strategic decision-making. Having a full understanding of what the numbers mean is critical to both operations and long-term planning.”

Celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2021, Max Weiss Company is a market leader in large metal forming, structural steel rolling, and hot-formed and fabricated metal shapes.
