The Truth About Tom Tiffany’s Record on Data Centers and the Environment
Wisconsin Conservation Voters IEC launches $2 million fall program to defeat Tom Tiffany and win a pro-conservation trifecta
Madison – With the possibility of a pro-conservation, pro-democracy trifecta, Wisconsin Conservation Voters IEC is spending more than $2 million to deploy the first phase of an election program to elect David Crowley governor and to flip the state senate and state assembly.
Wisconsin Conservation Voters IEC released a digital ad Tuesday that exposes the truth about Tom Tiffany’s record on data centers. In Congress, Tom Tiffany voted to fast track data center development, gut environmental protections, and to give data center developers a $70 billion tax break. As a state legislator, Tom Tiffany authored numerous bills that would prevent local communities from protecting themselves from corporate polluters. Tom Tiffany sold out to data centers and allowing him to be governor would be a disaster for Wisconsin. Wisconsin Conservation Voters IEC is initially spending $300,000 on this ad.
“Tom Tiffany may be the most anti-environmental candidate to ever run for statewide office in Wisconsin,” said Deputy Director Seth Hoffmeister. “Voters deserve to know the truth about his record. Wisconsin Conservation Voters IEC launched a website that details his long record on selling Wisconsin out to the highest bidder.”
Voters can see his record and check the facts for themselves at https://wcvvoter.org/tom-tiffany.
Wisconsin Conservation Voters IEC $2 million in spending:
Statewide digital ad program
Door-to-door canvassing: 160,000 knocks in Senate Districts 21 and 31, and Assembly Districts 30, 61, 88, 92, and 94
Mail to voters in key legislative districts
Congressional District 3 is one of the most important house races in the country. Wisconsin Conservation Voters IEC is partnering with LCV Victory Fund on a door-to-door canvass where we will talk to voters about electing Rebecca Cooke to Congress, David Crowley as Governor, Jeff Smith to State Senate, and Jeremiah Fredrickson to State Assembly.
“Defeating Representatives Derrick Van Orden and Tom Tiffany would be a victory for all Wisconsinites,” Hoffmeister said. “In Congress, they answer only to special interests, out-of-state billionaires and corporate polluters, and Donald Trump. Utility bills are skyrocketing and data center developers are threatening the Wisconsin we love.”
Wisconsin Conservation Voters IEC will deploy a program to set the record straight and ensure a brighter, more just future for all Wisconsinites on Nov. 3.
