The Quasimondo Milwaukee Physical Theatre presents Animal Farm
A potluck of puppetry, performance, and propaganda Directed by Brian Rott. Showing July 7th – 14th, 2014 @ Trimborn Farm in Greendale. 8881 W Grange Ave, Greendale, WI 53129
Milwaukee, WI… The Quasimondo Milwaukee Physical Theatre invites you to celebrate this Independence Day season with a truly revolutionary production, Animal Farm.
Inspired by George Orwell’s timeless tale, this original theatrical adaption examines the slippery slope of liberation, the erosion of right(s), and the high cost of consumption. Served with generous dollops of satire, puppetry, live music and movement. We are pleased to present this fairy tale at Trimborn Farm, a National Historic Place located in Greendale and owned by Milwaukee County.
The beasts of Manor Farm have suffered abuse from the tyrannical Mr. Jones for far too long. In a spark of desperation, revolution ignites, and the proletariat emerges, cage free. The creatures of Animal Farm, under new management, cultivate a community in which all animals are equal…but some are more equal than others.
Animal Farm features a cast of barnyard animals, designed by Puppet Master Andrew Parchman, and an eclectic blues/folk/industrial score written by Ben Yela. Comrades, join us for the closing of our second season, a site-specific, one-of-a-kind theatrical feast!

The Quasimondo creates innovative and visceral productions that are pertinent and provocative, entertaining and evocative, and challenge contemporary theatrical paradigms by exploring different forms, techniques and styles. Nothing is off-limits – dance, puppetry, circus arts, original music and more are interwoven as old and new forms collide to create a rich theatrical tapestry. For each show, Quasimondo artists pick from a palette of diverse performance practices, employing those which will most effectively paint a story.

“Heads up, Milwaukee—if you haven’t checked out a production from new physical theater troupe The Quasimondo yet, change that ASAP. The company, led by artistic director Brian Rott, is performing shows unlike anything Milwaukee’s used to seeing…The ideas and talent coming from this company are undeniable…The Quasimondo is staking its claim in Milwaukee theater, and we can only benefit if it sticks.”
– Danielle McClune, ThirdCoast Digest
“The Quasimondo is the brainchild of Brian Rott, who has studied physical theater at the Accademia Del’Arte in Italy. He’s gathered a talented troupe of actors, dancers, sculptors, puppeteers and musicians into a truly impressive ensemble.”
