The MECCA Sports Bar and Grill to Hold Grand Opening on Friday, May 3
Now open for dinner with limited hours
MILWAUKEE (April 30, 2019) – The MECCA Sports Bar and Grill, located on the Entertainment Block adjacent to Fiserv Forum, will hold its grand opening on Friday, May 3. It is currently open for dinner with limited hours as part of a soft opening.
The MECCA Sports Bar and Grill will be a major attraction for sports fans featuring a unique menu of elevated sports bar fare, including a vegetable stir fry, Alaskan salmon, crispy shrimp tacos, edamame and Nashville Hot Fried Chicken.
From now through Sunday, May 12, The MECCA Sports Bar and Grill is open from 4 p.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday. It will be open daily for lunch starting at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 13.
“The opening of The MECCA Sports Bar and Grill marks another significant milestone in the development of Deer District,” said Michael Belot, Senior Vice President of Bucks Ventures and Development. “Deer District is quickly becoming an exciting and bustling neighborhood in downtown Milwaukee, and The MECCA Sports Bar and Grill within it will be a prime destination for sports fans showcasing the Bucks and all Wisconsin sports.”
Additionally, an LED ribbon board wraps around the second level displaying in-arena content such as sports scores and information on upcoming concerts.
The MECCA Sports Bar and Grill has a total capacity of 750 people. It boasts two large full-size bars, outdoor seating on both levels, and arena-style seating on the second floor. It will also be available for private events.

Approximately 200 people were hired to work at The MECCA Sports Bar and Grill following two job fairs on April 18 and April 25. The positions, which include hosts and hostesses, bartenders, servers, bussers and cooks, all earn at least $10 an hour.
Located at 1134 N. Vel R. Phillips Ave. in the same building as Good City Brewing, the 11,500-square-foot, two-story etablishment is owned by Head of the Herd Real Estate Development LLC, an affiliate of the Bucks.
The MECCA Sports Bar and Grill’s architect was Rinka Chung, the general contractor was ADK, and the audiovisual consultant was Automation Arts.
The MECCA Sports Bar and Grill is the fourth announced establishment at the Entertainment Block. Good City Brewing, Punch Bowl Social and Drink Wisconsinbly opened earlier this year. The Beer Garden opened last fall.
The Entertainment Block was developed by Head of the Herd Real Estate Development LLC.
