The C.A. Lawton Co. Renews Tier 2 Participation In Green Tier
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) today announced the renewal of a Green Tier participation contract with The C.A. Lawton Co. (Lawton) in DePere. The agreement with Lawton is a continuation of the original Tier 2 contract that was signed in 2021.
Lawton manufactures large iron castings and machined components for a range of markets including agriculture, paper, mining and energy. They are focused on being an industry leader in sustainability and cutting-edge business practices that respect limited resources.
Lawton has operated under an environmental management system that is certified to the ISO 14001 standard for the past five years. As a Tier 2 participant, the company has continued to demonstrate its commitment to superior environmental performance with projects that include independent energy assessments, upgrading a compressed air system, installing scrap metal pre-heater and light fixtures and beneficially reusing foundry sand for projects in nearby communities.
Lawton’s future goals under the renewed contract include establishing science-based targets, improving data collection and maintaining the interested parties group.
“Lawton has proudly partnered with the DNR for the past five years as a Tier 2 participant,” said Alex Lawton, CEO of the company. “Our proactive collaboration with the DNR through the Green Tier program has been invaluable. This renewal underscores Lawton’s commitment to our community and the environment, and we eagerly anticipate continuing this partnership in the years to come.”
