Thank you, poll workers – we are grateful!
Statement of Alderman Terry L. Witkowski - November 6, 2018
Today we are seeing significant turnout for the midterm election at polling locations across the City of Milwaukee. Voters are turning out in droves as elections for U.S. Senator and U.S Representative, Governor, Attorney General and several other offices hold high stakes here and across Wisconsin.
I want to say THANK YOU to the small army of poll workers in the City of Milwaukee who are making this busy Fall General Election Day possible. We owe you a debt of gratitude as you work nearly non-stop during a very long day, dealing with long lines, big crowds and – on occasion – impatient citizens.
You are doing your part in making our democracy work, and you are making a positive difference for our city. At the end of the day you are to be saluted!
