Milwaukee Police Officers assigned to District #2 pursued a vehicle involved in drug dealing and reckless driving on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at 5:54 pm.

Prior to the incident, officers observed occupants of a Toyota Avalon at S. 22nd and W. Mineral Street, involved in a suspected drug transaction. They attempted a traffic stop but the suspects fled recklessly and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. After approximately one minute, the suspect vehicle fled across the 16th Street viaduct, crossed the center line and began to exit the roadway.

As the vehicle crossed the sidewalk, a pedestrian was struck by the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle crashed through the safety fence causing the vehicle to fall below the bridge and catch fire. Officers rendered aid to the occupants of the suspect vehicle and the pedestrian. The Milwaukee Fire Department responded and the three occupants of the suspect vehicle were pronounced deceased.

The suspects appear to be three adult males yet to be identified. The pedestrian, an 18-year old Milwaukee woman, suffered a minor injury and was transported to a local hospital.

The incident is being investigated by the Milwaukee Police Department Criminal Investigations Bureau and the investigation is ongoing.
