Supervisor Vincent Supportive of Southside Dog Park, Will Continue to Advocate for Approval
MILWAUKEE – Yesterday, February 1, 2024, the Board of Supervisors voted to table a resolution that would allocate funds for the replacement of Runway Dog Park. The resolution was held in the Committee on Finance last Thursday, January 25, on a 4-2 vote. According to state law, contracts paid from a contingency fund must receive prior approval from the Committee on Finance.
Supervisor Kathleen Vincent issued the following statement:
“As an animal lover and an advocate for communal outdoor spaces, I strongly support the addition of dog parks in Milwaukee County. While I am in favor of allocating funds to replace Runway Dog Park on the southside, I acknowledge that this resolution must follow the appropriate procedures before the Board can vote on it.”
“I have personally had multiple conversations with Parks Director Guy Smith to convey my support for facilitating the replacement of Runway Dog Park. I will continue to work collaboratively with my colleagues and Milwaukee County Parks to ensure residents can soon enjoy a high-quality dog park.”
