Supervisor Burgelis to Participate in National Senior Health and Fitness Day at Washington Park
MILWAUKEE – On Wednesday, May 25 Serving Older Adults and Milwaukee County will host activities for National Senior Health and Fitness Day. County Supervisor Peter Burgelis will participate in an 11 a.m. full body hand weights class at Washington Park Senior Center with seniors in his district.
“I hope to see many of my older adult neighbors participate in this excellent activity for National Senior Health and Fitness Day,” said Supervisor Burgelis. “Expanding access to exercise classes helps advance both health and equity in our community. I am proud of the work Milwaukee County does to promote wellness for our seniors.”
Other activities happening at Milwaukee County senior centers include an 8:45 a.m. balance, strength, and flexibility exercise class at Kelly Senior Center; a 10 a.m. senior striders class at Clinton Rose Senior Center; a 9:15 a.m. full body morning exercise class at Wilson Park Senior Center; and a 10 a.m. dance for fun and fitness class at McGovern Park Senior Center.
More than 100,000 seniors across the country participate in local health and wellness events as a part of National Senior Health and Fitness Day. The event is now entering its 29th year.
