The Generosity and Advocacy of Kohl, a Washington High School Grad, Are Remembered
Milwaukee Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Keith P. Posley has issued the following statement on the death of former U.S. Senator and philanthropist Herb Kohl, as MPS mourns Senator Kohl’s passing:
“The passing of Senator Kohl is a true loss to the entire state of Wisconsin, but especially here in the MPS community. The generosity and support he has shown to MPS over the years are immeasurable. Senator Kohl, a Washington High School graduate, continued to support MPS throughout his life with the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation, his advocacy, and his presence in the community. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of the countless children and families he has helped over the years. I want to express my sincere condolences to the Kohl family. Senator Kohl will be deeply missed.”
