Statement from Supervisor Martin on the Deadly Shooting at Dineen Park
MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee County Supervisor Felesia A. Martin issued the following statement today regarding the tragic shooting that occurred at Dineen Park on Saturday:
“I am deeply saddened by the senseless violence that unfolded this past Saturday at Dineen Park. This violent incident has shaken our community, and my thoughts are with the families of the victims during this incredibly difficult time. I am still processing the implications of this tragedy in what has long been a safe and welcoming neighborhood.
“I am in close contact with the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office to understand more about what occurred and will be visiting the scene of the shooting in the coming days. In the meantime, my office is coordinating with local leaders to host a safety meeting aimed at addressing these concerns and ensuring we work together for the well-being of our community.
“Additionally, I urge everyone to make use of the resources listed below. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please do not hesitate to reach out—these resources are here to help, and there is no shame in seeking support when it’s needed.”
