In-person absentee voting begins across Milwaukee County on Tuesday, October 22, 2024

Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, 2024

MILWAUKEE – Early in-person absentee voting for the upcoming November 5 election begins today throughout Wisconsin, and Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley is encouraging eligible residents to take advantage of the early voting options available throughout Milwaukee County.

“At Milwaukee County, we are committed to ensuring every eligible voter can cast their ballot in a safe, secure, and efficient manner to participate in our democracy,” said County Executive Crowley. “With early in-person absentee voting now available across Milwaukee County, I encourage residents to confirm their early voting location, check their registration status, and cast their in-person absentee ballots ahead of Election Day to make their voices heard.”

Starting October 22, in-person absentee voting will be available in communities across Milwaukee County, depending on your local municipality. Locations, dates, and times may vary. Residents are strongly encouraged to contact their local municipal clerk to inquire about their community’s in-person absentee voting information. The full in-person absentee early voting schedule for Milwaukee County municipalities is available here.

A valid photo ID is required to receive and cast a ballot in all Wisconsin elections. This law applies to voters at polling places and absentee voters. More information is available here.

Eligible, unregistered voters can also register to vote on Election Day on November 5. Individuals who have moved since they last registered to vote will need to update their information. Those unsure of their current voter registration status can check here. In order to complete same-day registration, individuals must bring a photo ID and proof of residence. If an individual’s photo ID does not list their current address of residence, they must present additional proof of residence, which may include a utility bill, rental unit lease, or other official document. A list of all valid proof of residence documents is available here.

You can learn more about how to register to vote, check your registration status, find your polling place, see what’s on your ballot, request an absentee ballot, and check the status of your absentee ballot by visiting myvote.wi.gov.
