Speaker Vos Statement: Signing of the ‘Wisconsin Model’ for Juvenile Corrections Reform

Madison…Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) released the following statement on Governor Scott Walker signing Assembly Bill 953 into law.

“The Wisconsin Model for juvenile corrections is bipartisan in every sense of the word and I’m proud that this will make a difference in the lives of many youth offenders.

“The reforms allow incarcerated youth to have access to the services and rehabilitation they need while in facilities closer to their homes and families.”

    Congratulations on such a transformative Juvenile Justice model. This whole last Legislative session has been a real civics lesson on how a strong and functioning state government can work for the people. Many differences, some behind-the-scenes and some public, but ultimately both sides came together for the good of the state. This has happened many times with this Legislature, and the people of Wisconsin are benefiting immeasurably from it.
