March 24, 2021 (Milwaukee, WI)Milwaukee County Sheriff Earnell R. Lucas issued the following statement regarding the passing of Milwaukee County Deputy Corporation Counsel Paul Kuglitsch on Tuesday, March 23:

“Paul Kuglitsch possessed a quiet dignity that belied an unparalleled legal mind, which he devoted to the betterment of our community. His wise and principled counsel contributed beyond measure to restoring honor, integrity, and trust to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office. Even under the most arduous circumstances, Paul approached his work with irrepressible intellectual curiosity and the same moral strength he displayed in the face of cancer’s cruelty.

“The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, seven hundred strong, joins with Paul’s family and friends in mourning the loss of this good and faithful public servant. A loss so great can never be made whole; the void left behind will remain unfilled. But all of us who knew Paul, and whom he guided so expertly along the pathways of the law, will do our utmost to keep his legacy alive.”
