Wisconsin State Senator Sarah Keyeski (D-Lodi) has been recognized as an Emerging Leader by the State Government Affairs Council (SGAC), a non-partisan national organization for governmental affairs professionals that was founded 50 years ago.

The award recognizes state legislators early in their legislative careers who distinguish themselves through vision, collaboration, and meaningful impact and demonstrate exceptional leadership, a commitment to bipartisan problem-solving, and a dedication to serving their constituents with integrity.

“Senator Keyeski’s skills, compassion, and determination enabled her to hit the ground running in her first term and help make her an effective legislator,” said Senate Democratic Leader Dianne Hesselbein (D-Middleton) who nominated Keyeski for the Award. “She is a leader on critical issues, introducing bills to make child care more affordable, lower costs for families, expand access to mental health services, and support our farmers. She is committed to finding bi-partisan solutions. She is a wonderful colleague and Wisconsin is better for her service.”

“My public service is really an expression of love for the communities I serve,” Senator Keyeski said. “Being a state legislator has allowed me to uplift the issues that matter most to the people in my district and put into action policy solutions to help our communities remain vibrant and to thrive. I am truly honored to have been selected for this award, and humbled by the national recognition.”
