Senator Habush Sinykin Applauds Governor Evers’ Final State of the State Address
MADISON, WI – This evening, State Senator Jodi Habush Sinykin (D-Whitefish Bay) attended Governor Evers’ 8th and final State of the State address. During the address, Governor Evers declared 2026 “The Year of the Neighbor,” calling on Wisconsinites to lean into their community connections and our shared Wisconsin values.
Senator Habush Sinykin released the following statement:
“Throughout his tenure as Governor, Governor Evers has proven to be a leader for Wisconsin through his integrity, empathy, and commitment to our state. Tonight, during his final State of the State address after two terms as Governor of Wisconsin, Governor Evers highlighted the progress Wisconsin has made in vital areas, such as responsible tax relief, infrastructure investments, and fairer maps. I am proud of the groundwork that the Governor and his administration put into building the necessary infrastructure for public education, affordable housing, safe communities and economic opportunities for ALL of Wisconsin.“But, as Governor Evers also pointed out, there is always more work we can do. The Legislature must continue to meet throughout the year to address the challenges and issues facing Wisconsinites–such as rising costs, access to healthcare, and protecting Wisconsin’s natural resources. With strategic and intentional action, we can find ways to invest in our neighbors, communities, and kids to move our state forward.
“I applaud Governor Evers’ final State of the State address and sincerely thank him for his work and many years of service to our great state.”
