Sen. Keyeski Introduces “Right to Repair” Bill with Sen. Pfaff to Support Wisconsin Farmers

MADISON – Today, Senator Sarah Keyeski (D-Lodi) joined Senator Brad Pfaff (D-Onalaska) in introducing the “Right to Repair” bill.

This consumer protection proposal creates a right for farmers to repair agricultural equipment by requiring manufacturers to make things like repair documentation, data, parts, and necessary tools available to owners and independent servicers at fair costs.

Sen. Keyeski released the following statement:

“I am proud to co-author this commonsense bill that helps lower costs for our hardworking farmers and creates jobs in our local communities. This proposal would provide farmers with the freedom to repair their own agricultural equipment on their own terms rather than being forced to go to a high-cost dealership mechanic.

“Not only does this proposal provide support and flexibility for our farmers, it also helps create job opportunities for local mechanics. Together, we will work hard to get the ‘Right to Repair’ bill passed this session because it is what’s best for our farmers and our rural communities.”
