Second Annual Footlights People’s Choice Awards Set for June 25

March 1, 2018 – (Milwaukee, WI) Footlights, the playbill-of-choice for countless performing arts organizations around Milwaukee, announced that they would hold the second annual Footlights People’s Choice Awards, presented by UPAF, June 25 at Milwaukee Repertory Theater’s Quadracci Powerhouse. John McGivern, an award-winning actor, producer and Milwaukee native, will once again host the ceremony.

This year’s ceremony will be called the Footlights People’s Choice Awards in order to better reflect the nomination and voting process, which is open to the public and available at Footlights’ website, Footlights.com. There will be two separate categories for professional and non-professional arts groups.

“It was an incredible experience last year standing in a room full of artists from all kinds of groups coming together to celebrate the work being done in the Milwaukee performing arts community,” said Awards Chair Ryan Albrechtson. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to bring that excitement back this year – bigger and better than ever!”

Nominations will be open throughout the month of March, putting the deciding power into the hands of artists, audiences, cast, crew, and performing arts companies.

Once the nominations have been finalized, the top nominations in every category will move on to the official voting round in April. The top three finalists in each category will be released after the voting results come in, with the winners being announced at the 2018 Footlights People’s Choice Awards on June 25.
