Press Conference and Happy Hour to Announce Final Nominees for the 2019 Footlights People’s Choice Awards

Milwaukee, WI- Footlights, the playbill-of-choice for countless performing arts organizations around Milwaukee, will hold a press conference and happy hour Thursday, May 2 at 4 p.m. at the Broadway Theatre Center, 158 N. Broadway, to announce the final nominees for the 2019 Footlights People’s Choice Awards.

The press conference will take place at the Skylight Bar & Bistro on the second floor. Footlights will stream the event on Facebook Live as awards host, local comedian and producer Matt Kemple, names the three finalists for each of the 15 categories. A printed list of the finalists will be given out at the event.

A happy hour with appetizers and performances from Skylight artists will take place following the press conference to celebrate the nominees and another great season of the performing arts in Milwaukee.

Voting for the awards closes Tuesday, April 30. Voters may select two nominees in each category: one from a professional production and one from a non-professional production.

Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony Saturday, June 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts’ Harris Theater. The celebration is a mix of award recognition and live performances. The evening will kick off with a Red Carpet Hour and VIP Reception, followed by an after party event with food, drinks and entertainment.
