MILWAUKEE, Wis. (May 19, 2022) – In one month, Sculpture Milwaukee will launch an event to kick off the summer season for the Milwaukee art and downtown community.

The 2022 Sculpture Milwaukee Celebration will descend on the 3rd Street Market Hall on Saturday, June 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a festival of interactive artwork and performances.

The celebration will unite sculpture and the arts on June 18 with a fun, lively and vivacious afternoon featuring interactive artwork, galleries, music, live mural painting, dance and performances.

“We want to celebrate the community coming back downtown after two challenging years,” said Meg Strobel, Director of Marketing and Community Engagement, Sculpture Milwaukee.

“Milwaukee is a vibrant art community, and the idea for this public event is to add to our free, open, downtown public art exhibition with some great people and performances.”

Several youth and community organizations are already slated to visit the 3rd Street Market Hall for this Sculpture Milwaukee Celebration, including True Skool, MIAD, Milwaukee Downtown, Betty Brinn, and more. These organizations will help provide hands-on and learning activities for kids and deliver performances that celebrate the culture.

CirculateMKE will also host a market where local entrepreneurs and artists will sell their crafts, food and unique goods in a family friendly marketplace. Live musical performances and entertainment will be provided by the United Performing Arts Fund.

Sculpture Milwaukee also will launch its mobile Sculpture Milwaukee Passport, which visitors to any of Sculpture Milwaukee’s artworks can use to virtually check-in at sculpture locations and learn more about the artists and artworks. The pass is free for all to enjoy, and a paid version of the pass (which rewards check-ins with exclusive prizes and offers discounts to local businesses along the route) will also be available for purchase at the event.

Strobel concludes, “The arts unite us all in important ways; we’re thrilled to host this exciting event alongside so many wonderful partners. We invite the entire community to celebrate with us- all are welcome!”
