MILWAUKEE COUNTY — Public Defender Travis Schwantes, who announced his candidacy for judge in Milwaukee County Circuit Court, Branch 30, last month, today announced more than 250 elected officials, attorneys, and community members have already endorsed his campaign.

“Travis is committed to making our legal system work for every single resident of Milwaukee County, no matter the color of their skin and no matter their economic circumstance,” said Ed Fallone. “As an experienced criminal defense lawyer, Travis knows that reform of our state’s criminal justice system is overdue. That is why he will be an excellent judge and that is why I urge you to join me in supporting Travis Schwantes for the Milwaukee County Circuit Court.”

Schwantes announced his campaign for Circuit Court Judge last month in a challenge to sitting Judge Jeffrey Conen. Conen subsequently announced he was leaving the bench and has endorsed another attorney for the position.

“I got in this race to continue my commitment to working for this community and serving my neighbors as a trusted, passionate advocate for justice and fairness in Milwaukee County’s courts,” said Schwantes. “I am grateful for the outpouring of support I have received from community leaders and proud of the diverse backgrounds and positions they represent.”
