Residents Invited to Learn About and Comment on the Mayor’s Recovery and Resilience Plan

MILWAUKEE—Mayor Tom Barrett will host a public meeting regarding his Milwaukee Recovery and Resilience Plan on Monday, July 19, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. The event will provide information about the Mayor’s initial allocation of American Rescue Plan funds, and City officials will be available to answer questions about the proposed expenditures.

“Our city has an opportunity to make dramatic progress in areas such as housing, jobs, and public safety with the $394 million dollars designated for Milwaukee,” Mayor Barrett said. “I want to share my vision for the first round of expenditures and collect additional input from residents as we map out our plans for future funding rounds.”

The public meeting will take place via GoToMeeting. Register in advance at this link: register.gotowebinar.com/register/2980133224974270992. The session will also be recorded and available for viewing online after the event.

People interested in the plan the Mayor has presented to the Common Council can read it at milwaukee.gov/arpa under “New Developments and Updates.”

Over the past week, Mayor Barrett has publicly discussed his plans for housing, workforce development, and addressing reckless driving. Because on the urgency in addressing these concerns, the Mayor has asked the Common Council to act promptly to approve this first part of the funding plan.
