Residents are Invited to Enroll in Schools, Learn About Job Opportunities at the “Our Lights Are On” Community Event
(Milwaukee)– On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, MPS invites families to an Open House and Job Fair from 5:30-7:30 pm at Andrew Douglas Middle School (3620 N 18th St, Milwaukee). This free community event offers a chance to explore and enroll in Promise Partnership Schools in the 53206 Zip Code, discover employment opportunities, tour the GE Innovation Lab, and engage with community partners and resources. Principals from all nine of MPS’ Promise Partnership schools and district leaders will be on hand to help families map out educational plans for student enrollment.
At the “Our Lights are On” event, families can learn about education offerings that include:
- Early childhood programs including Head Start
- STEM Programs
- College and Career prep
- After-School and recreation programs
- Other school services, such as counseling, social work, and more
Attendees will also have the opportunity to:
- Discover employment opportunities in MPS
- Find neighborhood services in 53206
- Tour GE Innovation Lab inside Douglas Middle School
- COVID and flu vaccines will be available for children and adults from Health Connections Inc.
