Rep. Sequanna Taylor Stands Up for Equity in Education During Joint Legislative Audit Committee

Milwaukee, WI. – This week during the Joint Legislative Audit Committee meeting, Representative Sequanna Taylor (D-Milwaukee) reaffirmed her strong commitment to educational equity by highlighting the importance of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) in shaping accessible and effective learning opportunities for all Wisconsin students.

Speaking on the need for educational systems that meet diverse learning needs, Representative Taylor (D-Milwaukee) released the following statement:

“DEI is not meant to be about race, but to be a platform and a stepping stool that ensures success in one’s learning opportunities. Because we all don’t learn the same, we all will not be able to engage and learn from different educators in one particular way.

“As a dedicated advocate for children and families, I will continue to advocate for policies that foster inclusive classrooms, uplift diverse learning needs, and prioritize the success of every child in Wisconsin.”
