Rep. Robyn Vining Will Run For Re-Election In The 13th Assembly District
WAUWATOSA–Rep. Robyn Vining announced today she will run for re-election in the newly drawn 13th Assembly District. She released the following statement:
“In 2020 my community and I defended that seat, winning by 8 points. In my first two years in the legislature I quickly came to understand why Wisconsin’s schools were underfunded: the Republican majority simply wasn’t going to fund them. Legislative Republicans were too deeply entrenched with the special interests–many funding their campaigns–that benefitted from underfunding public schools. So public school funding, a major concern I’d heard about from constituents for years, was being disregarded by the Republican majority.
“In 2022 the Republican majority once again gerrymandered Wisconsin, my seat became deep blue, but I watched the neighbors around me lose representation, and I watched school districts across the state gasp for help after chronic underfunding. And, I did worry that if we didn’t get more competitive maps, our public schools may not survive.
“For me and my community that means flipping another seat–the 13th Assembly District. We have done this before, and we are gearing up to do it again. Elm Grove, Brookfield and Wauwatosa, it is going to take all of us working hard to make this happen–our kids and community are counting on us. Wisconsin women are counting on us. Let’s flip the 13th!”
