“I am proud to co-sponsor six bills in the ‘Teaching is a Profession’ bill package that would support our teachers and make it easier for those interested in pursuing a career as a teacher. I am a co-sponsor of the following bills:
- Minimum salary for all public school teachers (LRB-6261)
- Grants for those pursuing a career in teaching (LRB-4254)
- Compensation for time spent on nonclassroom services (LRB-6173)
- Grants to school districts to pay student teachers an hourly wage (LRB-6172)
- Longevity bonuses for teachers (LRB-4488)
- Paid preparation time for teachers (LRB-4489)
“Teachers play a unique and special role in each child’s development, education, and childhood, and they are integral to shaping our communities, and Wisconsin’s future. I look forward to working with my colleagues to give teachers the appreciation and compensation they deserve so we can move Wisconsin education forward, together.”
