Rep. Robyn Vining Applauds Wisconsin Equal Rights Amendment Introduction
MADISON – Today, Sen. LaTonya Johnson, Sen. Jon Erpenbach, Rep. Sara Rodriguez, Rep. Jodi Emerson, Rep. Lisa Subeck, Rep. Tip McGuire, Rep. Lee Snodgrass, and Rep. Dora Drake announced the introduction of an Equal Rights Amendment to the Wisconsin Constitution.
Wisconsin’s Equal Rights Amendment would establish equal rights on the basis of sex, gender identity, race, color, sexual orientation, disability, religion, national origin, marital status, family status, age, ancestry, or any other immutable characteristic. State Representative Robyn Vining (D-Wauwatosa) issued the following statement in support:
“I am proud to co-sponsor this amendment to our state Constitution, and I am grateful to my legislative colleagues for putting this proposal forward. It is time for our state to enshrine that all Wisconsinites deserve equal treatment under the law.”
