Rep. Robyn Vining Announces Committee Appointments
May We Find Common Ground For The Common Good
MADISON–Rep. Robyn Vining (D-Wauwatosa) will officially be sworn in for a fourth term in the Wisconsin State Assembly later today representing the 13th Assembly District, a redrawn district that now includes Elm Grove, and parts of Wauwatosa and Brookfield. In addition to the honor of serving her community on the Assembly floor, Democratic Leader Greta Neubauer appointed Rep. Vining to serve on the Committee on Children and Families; Committee on Health, Aging and Long-Term Care; Committee on Small Business Development; and to serve as Ranking Member on the Committee on Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Prevention. In response to these committee assignments, Rep. Vining released the following statement:
“Committee work is a place where legislators from all sides of the aisle can come together and work hard to find common ground for the common good. I intend to show up to committee work to address maternal and infant health outcomes; increase access and affordability to quality healthcare–including mental health services; address concerns related to domestic violence; support small businesses in various ways including access to capital, paid leave, and affordable childcare, and more.
“I am proud to have introduced 10 bills to our Mental Healthcare is Healthcare legislative package in the past, and as Ranking Member I will continue to develop mental health legislation while also using my platform to destigmatize mental illness, and educate the public on mental health. As always, I welcome the input of Wisconsin’s mental health professionals and experts.
“May we come together from all sides of the aisle and do the work to find common ground for the common good so that we can move Wisconsin forward, together.”
