Rep. Fitzgerald Statement on Passage of FY25 National Defense Authorization Act
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Scott Fitzgerald (WI-05) issued the following statement in response to the passage of H.R. 5009, the Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement and National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025:
“These enhancements underscore our nation’s gratitude and commitment to improving military recruitment, retention, and readiness while ensuring our troops and their families thrive. By focusing on these critical priorities, we not only strengthen our armed forces but honor the immense sacrifices made in service to our country.
“I am disappointed that House Democrats chose to walk away from a bipartisan deal to include provisions restricting certain outbound investments to China. These types of provisions are a necessary step to confront the threat posed by the Chinese Communist Party.”
