Rep. Brostoff Statement on Gov. Evers’ 2021 State of the State Address
MILWAUKEE – In response to Governor Tony Evers’ 2021 State of the State Address, delivered virtually last night, State Representative Jonathan Brostoff (D-Milwaukee) released the following statement:
“As Governor Evers said last night, 2020 was one of the most unrelenting years we’ve experienced. And yet, despite those unbelievable challenges, we were still able to make important headway on critical initiatives across the state. Now as we transition into 2021, we are all too aware that the COVID-19 crisis remains with us, and we have plenty of work to do together to take care of one another and to see it to the other side. And as the Governor pointed out, the ongoing pandemic and economic crisis have both highlighted and exacerbated the ongoing, deep-seated challenges that our state has faced for years. But despite these challenges, I appreciate having Governor Evers’ steady hand at the wheel, and I know that we, strong Wisconsinites that we are, will make it through this together.”
“This year, we cannot stand down from the moment we face: we must build on the successes of the past, grapple with the challenges of today, and prepare for the promise that tomorrow holds. Once again, I look forward to working with Governor Evers to advance progressive reforms that will benefit all Wisconsinites, and to build a Wisconsin that works for us all.”
