Rep. Brostoff Statement on Assembly Democrats’ Day One COVID-19 Response Legislation
MILWAUKEE – Upon joining the Assembly Democratic Caucus in releasing COVID-19 response legislation earlier today as their first action of the 2021-22 legislative session, State Representative Jonathan Brostoff (D-Milwaukee) released the following statement:
“I am proud to join with my Democratic colleagues to hit the ground running and introduce much-needed COVID-19 response legislation on the first day of Session. While my Republican colleagues have been content to stand pat while Wisconsin has seen livelihoods, businesses, and thousands of lives lost to this pandemic, my Democratic colleagues and I understand the critical importance of getting our constituents the help they need and deserve now.”
“The fact of the matter is that this crisis is still with us, and it will be until the COVID-19 vaccine is rolled out to every corner of our state. This plan will provide a necessary bridge to get us from now until then, and will help protect the health and safety of families and working people across Wisconsin while setting us up for a robust economic recovery once we make it through this crisis. My Democratic colleagues and I have proven that we are more than ready to get our constituents relief right away – I hope our Republican colleagues will finally come to the table, and join us in actually doing their jobs.”
