Rep. Andraca Commends Gov. Evers’ Budget Address

Applauds measures to make 2025 the “Year of the Kid”

MADISON, Wis. – Today, Governor Tony Evers delivered his 2025-27 Biennial Budget Message, where he outlined his priorities for our upcoming state budget.

Rep. Deb Andraca (D – Whitefish Bay) – a member of the state legislature’s Joint Committee on Finance – released the following statement following the Governor’s budget address:

“Gov. Evers’ budget proposal builds upon the work he and my Democratic legislative colleagues have collectively done to make communities all across our state safer, smarter, and healthier. This budget once again prioritizes the needs of Wisconsinites all across our state through necessary investments, while holding the line on rising costs and property taxes alike.

“Most importantly, this budget builds upon the Governor announcing 2025 the ‘Year of the Kid’ by investing in public education at every level, as well as our kids at every stage in their development. I am proud that this budget makes these critical investments while cutting costs for everyday families and providing real and sustainable tax relief.

“As we move through the budget process, I look forward to working with the Governor and my colleagues on both sides of the aisle – as well as with my fellow members on the Joint Finance Committee – to maintain priorities that improve the lives of Wisconsinites. These investments are critical to ensuring Wisconsin is a better place to grow up, learn, and live for our current and future generations.”
