Renaissance Theaterworks announces new Marketing & PR Director
Milwaukee’s only women-run theatre company announced the new hire at the Broadway Theatre Center in Historic Third Ward.
Renaissance Theaterworks is pleased to welcome Kat Tow as the new Marketing & PR Director. Her energy and enthusiasm will be felt by our staff and community as we enter the 2014-15 season. Together, we continue to pursue our mission to create moving theatre that awakens our recognition of what it is to be human.
Kat holds a degree in Theatre and Gender Studies from Lawrence University. She was the Social Media Coordinator for the Beloit International Film Festival and a Marketing Intern with the Janesville PAC before joining the Milwaukee community. Kat is very excited to join the team, “The mission of Renaissance Theaterworks is so important, and they have been so successful in bringing women to the Milwaukee stage. I’m thrilled to work with these motivated, creative, and funny women, and to help present outstanding theatre to the Milwaukee community.”
Renaissance Theaterworks next presents Brink: A New Works Movement – a play development process created by Renaissance Theaterworks to advance the work of Midwestern women playwrights. The first annual Brink workshop presents staged readings by Gwendolyn Rice and Janet Burroway on August 18th & 19th at the Broadway Theater Center Cabaret Stage. There is a $10 suggested donation. For more information, visit www.r-t-w.com.
Renaissance Theaterworks’ mission is to create moving theater that awakens our recognition of what it is to be human – from classics to world premieres – with attention to women’s roles onstage and off. RTW is Milwaukee’s only women-founded, women-run theatre company. Renaissance Theaterworks is a member of Theater Wisconsin and the Third Ward Arts District. Renaissance Theaterworks receives support from the Wisconsin Arts Board, Milwaukee Arts Board, CAMPAC, United Performing Arts Fund, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Wisconsin Humanities Council and private donors and foundations.
