RadioMilwaukee Announces Rollicking Mardi Gras Party at Turner Hall Ballroom March 4 With Two Top Milwaukee Bands

Milwaukee (Feb. 20, 2014) – Milwaukee’s Herman Astro and Extra Crispy Brass Band will help the city celebrate Fat Tuesday at 88Nine RadioMilwaukee’s 4th annual Mardi Gras Party starting at 7:30 p.m. March 4, 2014, at Turner Hall Ballroom.

Tickets include complimentary Mardi Gras food prepared by Maxie’s restaurant and Milwaukee’s largest king cake. The celebration also will include beads, costumes and a funky party atmosphere.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with music starting at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds support RadioMilwaukee.

Advance tickets are available for $14 at the Riverside and Pabst Theaters box offices and online at http://pabsttheater.org/show/mardigrasparty2014. Tickets on the day of show will be available at the box offices or starting at 6:30 p.m. at Turner Hall.

RadioMilwaukee is also celebrating Fat Tuesday by airing New Orleans music four times a day until the show in special “Mardi Gras Moments” segments that include background on the holiday and that city’s storied musical traditions.

“RadioMilwaukee shares the musical vibe and spirit of Mardi Gras and New Orleans,” said Jordan Lee, the station’s music director, morning co-host and an organizer of the event. “With the help of two Milwaukee bands and Maxie’s southern cooking, Turner Hall will be transformed into ‘New Orleans north’ on Mardi Gras night.”
