Milwaukee, WISC – The Milwaukee Public Market is thrilled to kick off the summer grilling season on June 25 with a personal appearance from the author of Meathead, The Science of Great Barbeque and Grilling, a New York Times Best Seller and named one of the “100 Best Cookbooks of All Time” by Southern Living.

“Barbecue and grilling is rife with myths handed down through generations. We’ll bust them all with food science,” said Meathead.

Meathead, also known as The BBQ Whisperer and curator of the world’s most popular barbecue website Amazingribs.com, will reveal all the secrets every successful griller needs to know from which wood chips to use to what equipment to choose from.

This public market appearance will take place on Saturday, June 25, in the Public Market’s second level “Palm Garden” from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Meathead will discuss the concepts, methods, and tools of barbecuing and grilling, while shattering the myths that stand in the way of perfection. At the conclusion of his presentation, a Q&A will be held to offer attendees the chance to ask Meathead more detailed questions.

Barbeque lovers can reserve their space online for $25.00 per person, and for an additional $20.00 will receive personally autographed copy of his book Meathead: The Science of Great Barbecue and Grilling. All attendees will receive free parking in the Market parking lot and tastings of each dish. Early registration is encouraged, as space is limited.

“It’s an honor to host such an acclaimed chef and nationally renowned cookbook author to Public Market,” said Paul Schwartz, executive director of the Public Market and Business Improvement District #2. “Meathead is sure to impress attendees as he brings his BBQ expertise to a city like Milwaukee, where the local food scene is on fire!”
