Milwaukee, WISC – The Milwaukee Public Market and Joseph Property Development announced today a combined $10,000 matching grant for donations to Milwaukee’s Fallen Heroes Fund in honor of Detective Andrew Wilkiewicz, who was injured in a January 13th shooting in the Historic Third Ward after heroically stepping in to prevent an attempted robbery.

Interested donors can contribute to the fund set up by the Milwaukee Police Association in the name of the detective. The matching grant timeline will run through January 31, 2022 and can be made on the Milwaukee Fallen Heroes website under Detective Andrew Wilkiewicz’s Fund campaign.

“All of us in this community are overwhelmed with gratitude for the selfless bravery that was displayed by Detective Andrew Wilkiewicz, as well as the tremendous response by the Milwaukee Police Department,” said Paul Schwartz, executive director of the Milwaukee Public Market and Business Improvement District #2, and Robert Joseph, owner of Joseph Property Development in a joint statement. “This act of courage should not go unrecognized and we hope the greater Milwaukee community will join us in our efforts to offer some monetary assistance to the Fallen Heroes Fund as Detective Wilkiewcz recovers from his injuries.”

The Milwaukee Fallen Heroes fund is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization with a mission to assist the Milwaukee Police Department officers, as well as their dependents, in the event of an officer’s death, injury disability or extraordinary need.
