Protecting against a new variant

Statement of Common Council President Cavalier Johnson December 2, 2021

By - Dec 2nd, 2021 11:04 am

Milwaukee, please get vaccinated. Vaccinate yourself, and if your kids are 5 or older, get them vaccinated too.

A new variant of the COVID-19 coronavirus has reached our shores. But here in Milwaukee, we can stay on the road to recovery from the disruption of the pandemic if everyone gets vaccinated. Vaccines are free for all — and if you’re an adult, you can even get a booster to help prevent the worst effects of COVID.

I am urging anyone not yet vaccinated to get the shot as soon as possible. We are in a strong position — because of vaccination — to be able to keep our community safe from the Omicron variant.

I have no doubt that our city will keep moving forward toward a full economic recovery, but to get there we must continue to follow the common-sense steps that will keep our families and our community healthy.

Get vaccinated!
