Pocan Encourages Wisconsinites to Support the Local Economy on Small Business Saturday
"On Saturday, November 25, I encourage everyone to show their support for locally owned businesses and our friends and neighbors who run them."
MADISON, WI – U.S. Representative Mark Pocan (WI-02), a small business owner and union member, today released the following statement regarding Small Business Saturday, which is Saturday, November 25, 2017.
“Small Business Saturday is an opportunity to support the locally owned businesses that are the economic engines of our communities. As a small business owner myself, I know both the challenges these workers face, as well as the opportunities that come with community support.
“On Saturday, November 25, I encourage everyone to show their support for locally owned businesses and our friends and neighbors who run them. Shopping at a local business is about more than buying a product, it’s about creating jobs, raising wages, and helping our economy and community grow.”
Last year, 112 million people shopped on Small Business Saturday, generating an estimated $15.4 billion for small businesses.
