Pocan Calls on Van Orden to Return Money Raised from SOTU Outburst
MADISON, WI – Congressman Mark Pocan (WI-02) released the following statement after Congressman Derrick Van Orden sent a campaign fundraising email bragging about his inappropriate heckling of President Biden during the State of the Union.
“After embarrassing himself, Wisconsin, and the United States Congress, Derrick Van Orden continues to sink even lower. He is now profiting on being an unstable, belligerent fool at the State of the Union. This weekend, his campaign started to send fundraising emails bragging about his tasteless outburst. He must apologize to President Biden for this tantrum, return the money, and refrain from fundraising on it in the future. This wouldn’t be an issue if the member of Congress from Western Wisconsin acted more responsibly.”
