Three Winter Farmers Markets You Don’t Want to Miss
An end to warm weather doesn't mean an end to buying local.
Long gone are the warm summer mornings spent strolling through the rows of Milwaukee’s farmers markets. But the arrival of the winter winds doesn’t mean area vendors are packing up shop. Instead, they are moving indoors, bringing their produce, products and home-grown charm with them.
Here are three winter farmers markets in the Milwaukee area you don’t want to miss:
Oak Creek Winter Farmers Market
More than 50 vendors are prepared to set up their stalls this year at the Oak Creek Community Center, 8580 S. Howell Ave., on select Saturdays from Nov. 7 to April 17.
A specialty Thanksgiving night market is planned for Nov. 25, the night before Thanksgiving, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Looking for a scratch-made Thanksgiving pie? Van Laars Produce is accepting orders at the market’s kickoff on Nov. 7. Options include Dutch apple, pumpkin, apple praline, apple tart cherry almond and apple cranberry. The pies will be available for pickup at the Thanksgiving market on Nov. 25.
Oak Creek High School volunteers will offer free samples of a new item each week at the “Taste It” table throughout the season.
Graceffa’s Pizza, an Oak Creek summer market favorite, will bake and serve its popular Neapolitan and Sicilian pies all winter long. Farmer Ken from Wunberg Produce is set to return for his fourth winter season, offering cheese, eggs, meat and a new dill cucumber relish recipe.
Other vendors include Apple Holler, Casera Cafe & Bakery, Di’s Cauldrons Soups, Kelly’s Pot Pies & More, Nana B’Nana’s Dog Bakery, Oak Creek Hemp Co., Soap & Sensibility and Tinos Empanadas.
The market accepts SNAP/EBT payments and will double up to $20 for participants of Milwaukee Market Match.
The market runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on these dates:
2026: Nov. 7, Nov. 25, Dec. 5, Dec. 19
