Pfister Hotel Announces 6 Finalists for Artist Residency
The finalists’ work will be on display at Gallerie M at the InterContinental Milwaukee beginning on Gallery Night, Friday, January 22, 2016 through mid-February 2016 .
The Pfister Hotel has announced the six finalists for its 2016-2017 Artist-in-Residence program. The finalists are:
- Francis Annan Affotey, Abstract Painter
- Pamela Anderson, Abstract Impressionist Artist
- Rachel Frank, Fiber Artist/Wearable Art
- Candace Hunter, Mixed Media/Collage
- Indie LaLonde, Mosaics
- Heidi Parkes, Quilter
The finalists’ work will be on display at Gallerie M at the InterContinental Milwaukee beginning on Gallery Night, Friday, January 22, 2016 through mid-February 2016 for the public voting portion of the selection process. Once selected, the artist, chosen by a juried committee (with the public vote being one vote on the committee), would serve as the 8th Artist in Residence at the Pfister. The artist will work in the lobby-level studio, interacting with and inspiring the hotel’s guests.

Looks like a wonderful array of artists! Congrats to all involved. I’ve long been a fan of Indie’s intricate and tireless work, so I’ll have to cast my vote for her. What a wonderful young woman and creator for Milwaukee – I hope the Pfister can amplify her many talents and beautiful work.
