PEARLS To Host Career Workshop With WNBA Star Arike Ogunbowale

MILWAUKEE – November 19, 2024 – PEARLS for Teen Girls, a nonprofit with the mission of improving quality of life and strengthening the community one girl at a time, is excited to share that it will be hosting a career workshop called “Pursue Better” on Tuesday, November 26 at 5 p.m. at Dr. Howard Fuller Academy. The workshop will feature WNBA star and Milwaukee native, Arike Ogunbowale.

The workshop is free for PEARLS girls in 9th – 12th grade and will include dinner and a Q&A with Arike. Arike will also discuss what it is like to be a professional athlete, helping to empower young girls to set high goals and achieve their dreams. SecureFutures, an organization promoting financial education for teens, will also give a presentation on financial literacy and health tips and tricks.

Arike attended high school at Divine Savior Holy Angels and graduated college from the University of Notre Dame. She has been playing professional basketball for the Dallas Wings since 2019, where she is the all-time leading scorer. She is also a 4x WNBA AllStar.

The event is sponsored by Betterment, a financial services company that focuses on improving lives by turning everyday investments into dreams, no matter how big or small.
