My number one priority is to have safe neighborhoods where family and individuals can live, work, and play.

I would like to thank Alderman Terry Witkowski for his years of service. Today, I announce that I will be running for Alderwoman in Milwaukee’s 13th District. I am an action-oriented bridge builder who will give my 100% for our district and the City of Milwaukee.

For over three decades, I have been an accomplished leader with a high level of energy, commitment, and strong work ethic. I am a mother/spouse/daughter/sister, author, teacher, change agent, and hope to be your Alderwoman. Most importantly, my husband Paul and I have raised our four children in the district, appreciating the sense of community with neighborhood celebrations and being active parents in MPS schools. It would be an honor and joy to be the Alderwoman of the 13th District.

I have lived in the district for 35 years and have seen tremendous growth in the 13th, this area being a destination for business, great schools, parks, neighborhood associations and beautification efforts. As chairwoman of the City Plan Commission, I am well-informed about resident and corporate interests, perspectives from public organizations and the ability to build consensus. In my job as Director of Partnerships and Development at UWM’s Electa Quinney Institute for American Indian Education, I write grants and facilitate partnerships with tribal organizations throughout the city and the Great Lakes Region. I recently received my PhD in Urban Studies at UWM examining the intersections of women and activism in the early 1970s in Milwaukee. All of these skills and experiences make me an excellent candidate for the district.

My number one priority is to have safe neighborhoods where family and individuals can live, work, and play. I will be the change agent in the Garden District and bring more growth and prosperity in the district. I am running because I have a vision not only for the 13th but for the City of Milwaukee.

My goals are to attract more business development, maintain our great schools – building partnerships with local trade and higher education institutions, promoting health and wellness, and ensuring public safety. I am running for office because I am visionary and a person who gets things done.
