Pabst Mansion Designated as Nationally Significant on the National Register of Historic Places
Milwaukee, WI – May 7, 2025 – Pabst Mansion, a cornerstone of Milwaukee’s architectural and cultural heritage, is proud to announce its updated designation on the National Register of Historic Places, now recognized for its national significance.
“This new designation affirms what we’ve always known — that Pabst Mansion is not just a Milwaukee treasure, but a nationally significant site,” said Jocelyn Slocum, Museum Director of Pabst Mansion. “We are thrilled to see its legacy acknowledged at this level.”
This updated status carries more than symbolic weight. It opens the door to new opportunities, including eligibility for federal preservation grant programs that were previously unavailable to the Mansion. These resources are crucial as Pabst Mansion continues its ongoing capital campaign, Pabst, Present & Future, aimed at preserving and restoring the estate for generations to come.
As Pabst Mansion looks to the future, this national designation strengthens its role as a steward of history and a symbol of preservation success. Visitors are encouraged to explore the Mansion and learn more about its journey from private home to nationally recognized historic site.
