One Wisconsin Now Statements on Trump-DeVos Repeal of Title IX Sexual Assault Investigation Guidelines
"Repealing revised guidelines on the investigations of sexual assaults on college campuses sends victims back into the shadows, deters reporting of sexual assault and protects predators."
MADISON, Wis. — One Wisconsin Now Program Director Analiese Eicher released the following statements regarding the announcement by Trump’s Department of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos they will end guidance under Title IX for how universities investigate campus sexual assault.
“Repealing revised guidelines on the investigations of sexual assaults on college campuses sends victims back into the shadows, deters reporting of sexual assault and protects predators.
“With his backlog of rape kits and as the Attorney General in a state with colleges and universities that have poor track records on the handling of sexual assault, Brad Schimel must denounce the actions of Betsy DeVos and Donald Trump.
“Anything less shows Schimel takes neither the issue of campus sexual assault nor sexual assault survivors themselves seriously.”

While I do not want young woman to “go back into the shadows”, I am angry at the harm this does to the yojng men who are falsely accused. My son was falsely accused. He dropped out of school and lost his on campus job. We hired an attorney and private investigator. The young woman lied because she wanted attention from the fiance that had duped her. Then she harrassed my son and his girlfriend and threatened them with legal action when she was called out on her lies. The 3 person panel sided with the young woman against my son. We appealed and they ruled against him again. How do you answer the false accusations that have occurred? How do you handle the sucides of young men falsely accused? My son has a good support system. We brought him home and he will see a psychiatrist. In the meantime, she has gotten away with this.
