NEWaukee Hosts Final Night Market of 2019 This Wednesday

NEWaukee founded the Night Market in the summer of 2014 with the goal of creating a free, vibrant, safe, and interactive place in downtown Milwaukee for people to experience culture at night.

Milwaukee, Wisc. September 9, 2019 — NEWaukee is excited to announce its final Night Market of the summer this week on Wednesday, September 11th from 5-10PM. The Night Market is an open-air market that offers experiences for people of all backgrounds and ages on West Wisconsin Avenue.

Wednesday’s Night Market includes special performances from Danceworks, TRUE Skool, Fred Astaire Dance Studio, DJ Loop and DJ Ronco. The evening is full of activities including GRAEF’s s’mores roasting station, Jack-Putt mini golf, Milwaukee Comedy’s teeny tiny comedy stop, live blacksmithing from Milwaukee Blacksmiths and more.

Guests can dine with over 40 food vendors like Meat on the Street, Chillwaukee, Fauntleroy, Milk Can, Honeypie Cafe and Bakeshop, Scrimas Wood-Fired Pizza, Triciclo Peru and more. More than 80 art, craft, and local organizations will participate including Cuatro Uno Cuatro, Froedtert and The Medical College of Wisconsin, Milky Way Clay, Milwaukee Comedy, Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel, Lit MKE, 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, The Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Alonzo Artistry and more.

“Our attendance continues to grow every year,” says Angela Damiani, CEO and co-founder of NEWaukee. “We are excited to see so many people experiencing downtown and supporting the performers and businesses that make Milwaukee so special.”

The market will feature a craft brewery village with Eagle Park, Gathering Place, Milwaukee Brewing Company, MobCraft, Sprecher, and Third Space. Additionally, bars will serve MANCAN wine and Central Standard Craft Distillery batch cocktails.

West Wisconsin Avenue between Plankinton and Vel R. Phillips Avenue, and Old World Third between Wisconsin Avenue and Wells Street will be shut down from 12PM-1AM on the day of the event. Busses that run along Wisconsin Avenue will be rerouted to either Michigan Avenue or Wells Street.
