Neighborhoods Unite for Metcalfe/Sherman Park Annual Clean-Up

Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II asks residents to join with neighbors on Saturday, April 23 from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm for a neighborhood clean-up, hosted by the Fitzsimonds Boys & Girls Club, to cover the Metcalfe and Sherman Park neighborhoods

Volunteers should meet at 3400 W. North Ave. (the Football Field) at 9:30 am on Saturday to check in and receive their group assignments. From 10:00 am until 12:30 pm, the clean-up will ensue, followed by acknowledgements and finally lunch at 1:00 pm. Lunch will be provided to participating volunteers.

The clean-up is sponsored by several Milwaukee organizations, including Outpost, Children’s Wisconsin, Safe & Sound, Boys & Girls Clubs, and WestCare Wisconsin. “A very special thank you to all of our sponsors who have come together to make this event happen,” Alderman Stamper said.

Supplies will be provided!

“I am inviting all members of the community to come and volunteer to clean up our streets. A cleaner, safer Milwaukee starts with all of us,” Alderman Stamper said. “Giving back to the community and lending a helping hand can go a long way in the benefit of the neighborhood and this is one great way to contribute.”
